One-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Kyle Larson bounced back from a difficult Homestead qualifying to take a stunning victory in the Straight Talk Wireless 400 on Sunday.
Larson started the race down in 14th, but steadily worked his way through the field, finishing stage one in fourth and stage two in second before taking the black and white checkered flag for the race win after 267 laps of action.
Remarkably, the No. 5 driver led for just 19 of those laps, coming home as the winner after late overtakes on the likes of Alex Bowman and Bubba Wallace, who finished second and third respectively.
Larson is now the third-most winningest driver for Hendrick Motorsports, behind only Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson.
Elsewhere, spare a thought for Team Penske’s Ryan Blaney, who had looked dominant at times during the Homestead race and led for 124 laps of the action on Sunday.
The 2023 Cup Series champion was thwarted by his machinery, however, suffering a catastrophic engine failure in the final stage.
Blaney won stage one at Homestead, whilst stage two was won by Denny Hamlin, who eventually came home in fifth overall.
With all that said, let’s take a look at the full NASCAR Cup Series results from Sunday’s race.
