Two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Kyle Busch endured a nightmare outing at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Sunday as Josh Berry took his first-ever Cup Series win, causing a huge upset in the Pennzoil 400.
Berry’s previous best finish was a fourth at Phoenix last weekend, but the driver of the No. 21 Wood Brothers Racing Ford can now call himself a cup winner after producing an incredibly strong drive. Berry beat home the likes of Daniel Suarez and Ryan Preece in a shock top three, with William Byron and Ross Chastain rounding out the top five.
Elsewhere, Busch suffered a horrific day at the office, finishing the race 35 laps down on the race winner and most of the field.
Busch’s day got off to a bad start in stage one when the No. 8 driver was slammed with a penalty and sent to the back of the field by NASCAR after it was judged he had been speeding in pit road, something he called “insane” over the radio. Then, in stage two, Busch lost a wheel, putting him 34 laps down heading into the final stage.
With all of that said, let’s take a look at the full Cup Series finishing order from Las Vegas.
