NASCAR Results Today: Joey Logano hit with BRUTAL Phoenix penalty as Joe Gibbs Racing stars dominate

NASCAR star Christopher Bell has made it three Cup Series victories in a row after a stunning drive in the Shriners Children’s 500 on Sunday evening.

Bell was involved in a dramatic late battle for the lead with Joe Gibbs Racing team-mate Denny Hamlin at Phoenix Raceway but managed to just about hold him off to take his third win on the spin. Interestingly, previously, a driver to win three straight races has gone on to win the title on eleven occasions the very same year, which is a fantastic omen for the No. 20 team.

Kyle Larson also ran the top two close on the final lap but fell agonizingly short in third position, whilst Josh Berry and Chris Buescher rounded out the Phoenix top five.

Spare a thought for Joey Logano, however. The No. 22 car had looked strong out front in the early stages of the race after qualifying in second, but the reigning Cup Series champion was hit with a drive-through penalty after crossing the yellow line on the inside of the track before crossing the start-finish line on a restart.

As a result, he came out 21 seconds behind the race leader, and although he bounced back in stage two on the option tyre to come second and collect some stage points, he would end the race down in 13th place.

With all of that said, let’s take a look at the finishing order in full, with each stage result also listed.
