The 2025 NASCAR Cup Series gets underway today, with qualifying for the Cook Out Clash taking place at Bowman Gray Stadium.
Commonly referred to as 'The Clash', the race was introduced as a non-points scoring event at Daytona International Speedway for the Cup Series’ pole winners from the previous season all the way back in 1979.
With the first set of qualifying set to take place on Saturday, temperatures look set to be mild, with a current forecast of 53 degrees when the Cup Series cars hit the track for practice and qualifying.
In positive news, however, there is currently a zero chance of rainfall, meaning proceedings are unlikely to be interrupted.
Naturally, as we head further into the evening, temperatures are expected to plunge, with it set to be around 45 degrees come 9pm.
Sunday, September 29: Race
Clear conditions are expected once again for the premier event on Sunday, in further positive news for spectators at the circuit.
Unfortunately, however, the good news ends there, with temperatures expected to be even more mild throughout the evening at just 38 degrees. If we were heading to the circuit, we'd dress up nice and warm!
Once again the chances of rainfall look low, however, with just a 1% chance forecast currently.
