Fernando Alonso confirmed that his career objective is to return to the Dakar Rally.
Speaking on the High Performance Podcast, the two-time world champion admitted: "I would love to win the Formula 1 World Championship title again, but that is not the first priority. I'm enjoying the process, especially now with Aston Martin.
"We want to be able to fight for the title in the future. I love spending time with the team and seeing how we are all improving in many areas. And 99 per cent of the time I will compete in the Dakar again. It's not that the third Formula 1 World Championship title is less important, but winning the Dakar is also at the top of my list.
"Maybe I'll have to compete there eight or ten times to be lucky enough to drive for victory one day. But if I can win in Formula 1, the World Endurance Championship and the Dakar, then that's something very special for me as a driver and as a person."
During his brief break from F1, Alonso participated in important races such as the World Endurance Championship and the Indianapolis 500.
Alonso, who won important endurance races such as the 24 Hours of Daytona and the 24 Hours of Le Mans, also participated in the Dakar Rally with Toyota.
The Spaniard's first adventure in the Dakar was very promising, and he has made it clear that he would love to return in the future.
Alonso, who is already back in the F1 arena, has not hidden that he wants his third championship - or at least his first race in a decade.
