GPFans USA lead editor Chris Deeley is a sports journalist and editor with a decade's experience in the industry, who has brought his unique brand of humour to the team in the spring of 2023, having been a lifelong fan of Formula 1.
He previously worked at 90min, starting as an intern before moving into a full-time role – covering countless Premier League matches and leading the site's women's football coverage, including covering the 2019 World Cup. He later moved within the company to serve as the Editorial Director for FanSided's soccer division.
Chris also wrote Forgotten Nations [2019] (published by Pitch Publishing) about the sport's significance in 'countries' – breakaway states, republics, autonomous regions etc. – not recognised as such by FIFA, and how their national teams relate to their regions' identities.
He also has bylines for Metro, Vice and the Huffington Post on subjects ranging from hot dog cart conspiracies to The Wurzels' 1976 hit 'The Combine Harvester'.
Away from the keyboard, he has several years of radio experience, including cricket commentary on Test Match Sofa and Guerilla Cricket, co-hosting weekend shows on Love Sport Radio and several radio and podcast guest appearances (including The Totally Football Show and Times Radio), on camera for TRT World and the women's football show on 90min Talks.
