GPFans news editor Kerry Violet is a motorsport journalist from London and naturally, a lifelong fan of Formula 1, drawn in by the greatness of Lewis Hamilton throughout her childhood. Having grown up between Germany and the UK, Kerry continues to learn German with the aim of moving back to the country to work as a media professional in the future.
Kerry has exercised her qualifications and skills since graduating from the University of Sheffield in 2022 with a journalism degree, producing content across a range of specialisms from sports to film commentary – both as a writer and editor.
Her experience ranges from building and heading up an impactful local journalism platform to pursuing her passion for filming and editing as a pastime. In a professional capacity, Kerry’s work ranged from writing human interest features, meeting and interviewing a wide variety of subjects, to being a Sports Editor for the award-winning, all-female journalism initiative Empoword Journalism.
The key to Kerry’s motivation is connecting with communities, whether aiding and watching journalists grow through volunteering opportunities or contributing to the conversation around a sport like F1 through GPFans, whose community is constantly growing.
