Leclerc concerns linger over Ferrari fragility

Charles Leclerc has conceded the fragility of Ferrari's power unit remains a concern after Carlos Sainz's fiery end to last weekend's Austrian Grand Prix.

The Spaniard had been on course to complete a Ferrari one-two before his PU expired dramatically, leaving his F1-75 burning down the escape road at turn four of the Red Bull Ring.

The failure added to a growing list of issues attributed to the Scuderia's engine department, with Leclerc twice taken out of the lead already this year in Spain and Azerbaijan.

"It is definitely a concern, so we need to look into that and make sure that it doesn't happen," said Leclerc.

"Obviously, it happened twice on my side in the last five races and now Carlos again. So yeah, we need to get on top of this as quickly as possible."

Leclerc details Ferrari changes

Leclerc's win in Austria broke a drought dating back to the third round of the championship in Australia.

Detailing what had changed on the Ferrari between the two triumphs, the Monégasque explained: "We got a package in Barcelona, then we had another upgrade in Silverstone and it always went in the right way.

"I think the performance has been great since Australia.

"But apart from Miami, maybe, where we were a little bit down compared to Red Bull, it's been strong in the last five races, but we just couldn't put everything together.

"So yeah, it's great that we are now finally having a normal race on my side."
