Ferrari endured a difficult Monaco Grand Prix after letting slip a one-two on the grid to finish second and fourth.
The strategic gaff was the latest in a string of errors to come from the Ferrari pit wall in recent years as Charles Leclerc was denied even a spot on the podium after starting from the front of the pack.
The error left the Monegasque driver trailing Verstappen by nine points in the drivers' standings after seven races with Red Bull also extending its lead in the constructors' race.
Red Bull now has five race wins to Ferrari's two this year with the former topping the podium on each of the last four occasions.
