F1 Miami Grand Prix starting grid with penalties applied

The inaugural Miami Grand Prix is set up to be a Ferrari-Red Bull duel following an intriguing qualifying session on Saturday.

Scuderia duo Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz took advantage of a mistake from reigning F1 champion Max Verstappen on his final run in his Red Bull to secure the team's first front-row lockout since the 2019 Mexican Grand Prix.

Leclerc starts from the 12th pole of his career with a likely anxious Sainz alongside him given the Spanish driver crashed out on the opening lap of the last two races in Australia and Imola.

But behind the Ferrari pair is an all-Red Bull second row, with Verstappen third on the grid and with Leclerc and Sainz in his sights, with team-mate Perez also in a position to attack.

Valtteri Bottas produced another superb performance to line up fifth in his Alfa Romeo ahead of former team-mate Lewis Hamilton who starts sixth for Mercedes, with team-mate George Russell six places further back after lacking confidence in his heavily porpoising W13.

At the back of the grid is Alpine's Esteban Ocon who was given dispensation to start after failing to take part in qualifying following a heavy crash in final practice.
