Saudi Arabian Grand Prix starting grid with penalties applied

The start of the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix will only have 19 drivers on the F1 grid in the wake of Mick Schumacher's frightening qualifying smash.

Although Schumacher escaped unharmed and was given the all-clear after checks at a nearby hospital, Haas took the decision to stand him down for the race due to the lack of components at such an early stage in the campaign.

After qualifying 14th, it means all those who were due to start behind the German now move up a place, with one of the drivers surprisingly Mercedes' Lewis Hamilton.

The seven-time champion is currently enduring a rough start to the season with the team's new W13, with the Briton failing to escape from Q1 on pure pace alone for the first time since 2009.

Hamilton lines up 15th and will have Daniel Ricciardo a place ahead of him after the McLaren driver was handed a three-place grid penalty for impeding Esteban Ocon in his Alpine during qualifying.

Ahead of them, history will be made as Sergio Perez will lead away the field after becoming the first Mexican driver to secure pole position.

Behind the Red Bull driver he has Ferrari duo Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz, with team-mate Max Verstappen also in his mirrors.
