Vettel mulling over name for new Aston Martin

Sebastian Vettel has revealed he is yet to make his mind up as to the name he will give to his Aston Martin AMR22 for the upcoming season.

In one of F1's favourite traditions, four-time champion Vettel gives a nickname to each of his cars at the start of the season, usually coming up with each name with his mechanics.

Previous names include Lucious Liz and Kinky Kylie whilst at Red Bull, whilst last year the German named the AMR21 Honey Ryder, a nod to the first 'Bond girl' from Dr No, the first instalment of the James Bond film franchise.

Asked at the launch of the AMR22 at the Aston Martin headquarters in Gaydon if he had given the new car a name yet, Vettel replied: "I have been asked so many times that I am trying to think of a couple of names.

"I haven't made up my mind and usually, I don't do it on my own, I do it with the mechanics.

"Last year, we came up with Honey Ryder because it was the first Aston Martin and the first Bond girl.

"It doesn't necessarily have to be a Bond girl but I am sure we will come up with something."

Should Vettel choose to follow his James Bond theme into 2022, a possible name could revolve around Tatiana Romanova, played by Daniela Bianchi, the 'Bond girl' from the second film, From Russia with Love.

The AMR22 made its on-track debut with a shakedown at Silverstone on February 11, with pre-season testing getting underway on February 23.
