Verstappen crashes out from lead at Le Mans Virtual

F1 world champion Max Verstappen crashed out from the lead of the Le Mans Virtual 24 hour race.

The Dutchman had taken the lead from the start for Team Redline before stretching the advantage to the team's second car, taking full control of the race alongside team-mates Felix Rosenqvist, Atze Kerkhof and Maximilian Benecke.

But around the seven-hour mark of the event - the official sim racing equivalent of the famous 24 Hours of Le Mans - Verstappen lost control of his car over the kerbs of the Ford Chicance and speared into the barriers.

The impact was enough to register critical damage within the rFactor2 model, causing an instant retirement.
