POLL - Should Mercedes appeal Hamilton championship defeat

The 2021 F1 world championship ended in controversy as Max Verstappen became champion for the first time.

The Dutchman overtook Lewis Hamilton on the final lap of the race after a late safety car took away the Briton's advantage having controlled the race from turn one.

The procedures used by the FIA under the safety car have caused drama off-track, with Mercedes lodging a protest over the way lapped cars were handled, as well as a potential overtake by Verstappen before the safety car line.

Team principal Toto Wolff was irate when he saw only the lapped cars between Hamilton and Verstappen being allowed to unlap themselves despite race control initially stating no backmarkers would be able to do so.

The Silver Arrows lodged an intent to appeal following the dismissal of both protests, so at GPFans we want to hear your opinion.
