Sir Frank Williams - The cars that defined an era

Sir Frank Williams created one of the most successful teams in F1 history and in memory of this legend of the sport, GPFans has taken a look back at some of his team's best entries.

Williams announced the saddening news of Sir Frank's passing on Sunday afternoon.

Aged 79, he leaves behind a legacy that will endure the test of time having presided over 735 grands prix, claiming nine constructors' titles, seven drivers' and 114 race victories.

These are the cars that defined Sir Frank's career.

Okay, we said this would only be a list of the championship-winning cars, but no list of iconic Williams machinery would be complete without the FW07, the car that scored the first of 114 wins for the team.
FW07-B - 1980 drivers' and constructors' winner with Alan Jones
FW07-D - 1981 constructors' winner
FW08 - 1982 drivers' winner with Keke Rosberg
FW11 - 1986 constructors' winner
FW11-B - 1987 drivers' and constructors' winner with Nelson Piquet
FW14-B - 1992 drivers' and constructors' winner with Nigel Mansell
FW15-C - 1993 drivers' and constructors' winner with Alain Prost
FW16-B - 1994 constructors' winner
FW18 - 1996 drivers' and constructors' winner with Damon Hill
FW19 - 1997 drivers' and constructors' winner with Jacques Villeneuve
An honorary mention to the most recent race-winning Williams, Pastor Maldonado's FW34 from the 2012 Spanish GP
