Williams confirm Capito absent from F1 paddock after Raikkonen meeting

Williams has confirmed CEO Jost Capito "will not enter the F1 paddock for the remainder of the Dutch Grand Prix" after meeting Kimi Raikkonen on Friday.

On Saturday morning, Raikkonen tested positive for Covid-19, with Alfa Romeo announcing Robert Kubica as his replacement for the rest of the Zandvoort event.

Williams has now confirmed Capito met with Raikkonen, and although this was in a socially distanced fashion, the team has taken the decision he will not return to the paddock as a "precaution".

"Following Kimi Räikkönen’s positive COVID-19 test announced this morning, Williams Racing can confirm that Jost Capito will not enter the F1 paddock for the remainder of the Dutch GP," said Williams via social media.

"Jost met with Kimi yesterday but in a socially distanced manner and while he is therefore not a close contact and has been retested with a negative result, Jost and Williams have taken the decision as a precautionary measure to mitigate any potential risk to the team."
