Daniel Ricciardo has joked F1 should adopt a three-day qualifying format to decide the winner of the Monaco Grand Prix rather than racing.
Monaco is notorious for producing processional races with the narrow confines of the street circuit, when in dry conditions, rarely making for a thrilling spectacle.
Qualifying in the principality is, however, one of the most captivating sessions of the entire year with drivers acutely aware of the lack of opportunities to progress later in the weekend.
In a tweet posted by McLaren, Ricciardo said: "We need to start racing on bigger tracks. We should just have a qualifying format in Monaco. Just a three-day qualifying and the best lap from the three days is just [the winner].
