Formula 1 returns to France for the first time since 2019 with Pirelli hoping to put the tyre issues of Azerbaijan behind it and Mercedes expecting to bounce back from a diabolical last two races.

Max Verstappen and Red Bull assumed the lead in both the F1 drivers' and constructors' standings after the Dutchman's victory in Monaco with an error from Lewis Hamilton on the restart in Baku ensuring the tables remained in Red Bull's favour heading to France.

Sergio Perez scored his first win for the championship-leading team on the Baku streets to extend Red Bull's advantage in the constructors' race to 26 points but all the talk since then has been over the two dramatic tyre blowouts on the long straight, one for Verstappen and one for Lance Stroll.

A technical directive has been issued informing teams of new, more stringent pressure tests and the tightening of procedures after Red Bull and Aston Martin were absolved of any responsibility.

As F1 moves away from street tracks and back to permanent racing facilities, can Mercedes bounce back from its worst two-race performance since 2012? Here are all the details you need to follow the action this weekend.
