Ferrari mail Leclerc a "special" gift

Ferrari has gifted Charles Leclerc the SF90 with which he claimed the first two Formula 1 victories of his career.

Leclerc joined Ferrari in 2019 after spending the first year of his time in F1 racing with Sauber and scored eight podiums and two race wins.

The wins came in quick succession with Leclerc victorious in Belgium and Italy immediately after the summer shutdown.

To date, the 2019 season was the Monegasque driver's strongest, with Leclerc ending the year fourth on 264 points.

On Friday, Leclerc teased his followers on social media with an image of a familiar shaped car under covers sat in the back of a lorry.

Three hours later, he revealed the SF90 in all its glory, positioned in its new home.

Leclerc is contracted to Ferrari until 2024 with the Scuderia securing him to a long-term deal after his successful first year at the Maranello-based team. After one race this year, Leclerc is sixth in the standings.

Last year, the Scuderia gifted Kimi Raikkonen the SF71H in which he secured his final race win with the team in 2018.
