AlphaTauri has released new behind-the-scenes footage of rookie recruit Yuki Tsunoda from his post-season 'young driver test' outing in Abu Dhabi.
The video was captured the day before the 20-year-old was officially announced as one of the team's two drivers for the coming season.
Walking into the paddock with only a backpack and a visor, Tsunoda meets with team principal Franz Tost, gets comfortable in the cockpit and is later heard giving detailed feedback while being debriefed by the team.
In a light-hearted moment, Tsunoda comments "This is nice," pointing to an electronic dartboard on the wall of his dressing room.
This year Tsunoda is one of three drivers making the step up from F2 to F1, the other two being Mick Schumacher and Nikita Mazepin, both of whom will drive for Haas.
While both his rivals gained promotion after two years of racing in the junior series, Tsunoda achieved his after one season, finishing third in the drivers' championship and picking up the 'Anthoine Hubert Award', formerly known as the 'Rookie of the Year' award.
