Haas ton of races 'the first but not the last' - Steiner

Guenther Steiner has no doubt Haas is in Formula 1 for the long haul after claiming its first century of races would not be the team's last

Haas has endured a rollercoaster relationship with F1 since it entered the sport in 2016, leading to question marks as to whether it would pull out at the end of this year.

But after recently committing itself to a new Concorde Agreement, Steiner has no doubt Haas is still in the early stages of a long journey in the sport after celebrating its 100th race in Abu Dhabi at the weekend.

"The whole team can be very proud but what I am proudest of is that we continue," said Steiner. It is not our 100th, it is our first 100. There will be many more to come.

"I think we have achieved quite a bit, obviously, this season is not a good one for us, not our best one. We have had ups and downs. We are not where we were in '18.

"We need to get better and I think it is great to reach 100 which, on one side, is a big number but compared to the other ones [teams], it is a small number.

"We have established ourselves pretty well in the F1 world. We are well recognised. I think we are welcome here but that is down to all the people which work or worked for Haas F1."

Over the course of Haas' presence in F1, just six members - including Steiner - have attended all 100 races.

"There are people here that were here from the beginning but they sometimes had a wedding or for health reasons, they couldn't attend," he explained.

"But there are only the six which were actually at the track for the 100 races so there are quite a few disappointed people who did 99 and watched the 100th on TV - that doesn't count."
