Leclerc gets the girl as Ferrari release 'Le Grand Rendez-Vous'

Ferrari has officially released the short film it recently produced in conjunction with controversial French movie-maker Claude Lelouche.

Charles Leclerc is the star of a remake of a nine-minute short that was originally shot in 1976 that took place on the streets of Paris entitled 'Le Grand Rendez-Vous'.

That nine-minute movie caused a stir at the time as Lelouch is understood to have broken numerous traffic laws as a Mercedes 450SL sped its way from Porte Dauphine to Sacre Coeur.

On this occasion, the latest six-minute film was shot on deserted Monte-Carlo streets during the lockdown period and over the course of what would have been the Monaco Grand Prix weekend of May 23-24.

With the roads shut down from between 6.45am to 9am, Leclerc hit speeds of 150mph (240kmh) while driving an SF90 Stradale.

HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco was then given a passenger ride around the Principality streets which on that particular Sunday would normally have played host to the sounds of 20 F1 cars.

Obvious lockdown measures were in place, such as the wearing of face masks, while elbow bumping replaced a traditional handshake.

As for the girl mentioned in our headline, see the movie here...
