Lewis Hamilton has taken to the track at Silverstone as Mercedes continues its preparations for the 2020 Formula 1 season.
Valtteri Bottas was granted time in the 2018 W09 on Tuesday (June 8), with Hamilton taking over on Wednesday. Testing regulations prevent the use of more recent machinery.
Mercedes is using the two-day test to acclimatise to the new health and safety guidelines issued by Formula 1 and the FIA, with social distancing and personal protective equipment [PPE] to become the norm in the sport.
While Bottas enjoyed dry conditions on his return to the cockpit, Hamilton faced a more slightly tricky session thanks to typically British rain falling on the Northamptonshire circuit.
