Formula 1 teams will be forced to operate with reduced numbers when the 2020 season commences GPFans has learned.
Sources within the paddock have confirmed to GPFans that teams will be limited to just 80 members of team personnel on site, with only 60 of this number permitted to work on the two cars.
It has also been confirmed that the initial behind closed doors races will be labelled as 'Closed Events' while later races in the season, those that could potentially see spectators in attendance, will be known as 'Open Events'.
The decision of which races will fall into each category will be jointly made by the FIA and Formula 1 Commercial Rights Holder, Liberty Media.
Teams would have hoped that 'Open Events' would allow for a larger number of personnel permitted on site, but this will not be the case.
However, not included in the number specified, are team members whose primary responsibilities are in hospitality, marketing, public relations, security and transport.
