Lando Norris will compete in the IndyCar iRacing Challenge at the Circuit of the Americas.
The McLaren Formula 1 driver has accepted an invitation from IndyCar to take part in the iRacing Challenge as a guest driver. The competition is the equivalent to the Formula 1 Virtual Grands Prix series.
“I guess that means the practice starts now then," tweeted Norris in response to a communication from IndyCar.
Norris has competed in various esports competitions during the extended shutdown period but he is yet to complete an official Formula 1 Virtual Grand Prix without experiencing technical difficulties.
Alongside several other Formula 1 drivers, Norris has also been competing in the 'Race for the World', a competition in which drivers are attempting to raise $100,000 for the World Health Organisation's Covid-19 Solidarity Relief Fund.
