Kvyat provides update on 'progress' made by AlphaTauri

Daniil Kvyat feels that good progress has been made by AlphaTauri after the first three days of testing in Barcelona, compared to last year.

On the final day in Spain, Kvyat managed to produce the fifth quickest lap time of the day with the 25-year-old now saying that he and his team will look at the results to prepare for next week.

Speaking after testing Kvyat said: “We had a lot of high-quality tests and tried to cover as many laps as we could, so we did well in that respect. Now we need to analyse everything and work on more tests to be ready for next week."

The AlphaTauri driver believes that the car is at a good point and has made a significant step compared to last year, although he admits additional tweaking is needed.

“The car feels like it’s in the ballpark and we’re still fine-tuning it like everyone else is, but the initial feeling is we’ve made some progress compared to last year," he added.

“We’re still trying to unlock the full potential of the car, both on short and long runs.”

After 13 seasons of being part of F1, AlphaTauri have confirmed that they will not alter the honours list of Toro Rosso, the team they have re-branded.

They still remain a sister team of Red Bull and will be making their first appearance in F1 down in Australia.
