The Arrow McLaren Schmidt Peterson Indycar for 2020 has been revealed with the distinctive McLaren papaya orange blending with black sidepods and wings.
The car, which will be driven by Patricio O'Ward and rookie Oliver Askew, marks McLaren's first proper return to racing in the US series since 1979. The season will also be the first to see cars run with the aero screen safety device - the alternative solution to Formula One's halo.
Askew joins the team as the reigning Indy Lights champion while O'Ward enters his first full time campaign having raced once in 2018 and eight times, including the Indy500 in 2019.
McLaren have recently competed in the Indy500, racing with Fernando Alonso in 2018 and failing to qualify in their second attempt at a return in 2019, but this latest effort marks their first full-time assault on the category since their 1979 campaign with Johnny Rutherford at the wheel, a campaign which yielded two victories.
