Ferrari: Everyone would love to drive for us

Ferrari CEO Louis Camilleri believes that every single driver currently on the grid in Formula 1 would ‘love’ to perform for Ferrari at some point in their career.

After Lewis Hamilton secured his sixth constructors’ championship, and with dramatic regulation changes coming in 2021, there has been increasing speculation that the Brit could make one more big move before the end of his career - to the Scuderia.

Mercedes, Ferrari, and Hamilton have all been diplomatic in their response to the stories, but Camilleri included Hamilton by saying that everyone wants to drive for his team.

"I would hazard a guess that every single driver on the F1 grid today would love to drive for Ferrari," he told the Financial Times.

"Why? Because it is so meaningful."

One man who is currently performing for Ferrari is Charles Leclerc, and Camilleri was full of praise for the 22-year-old who won two races in his debut season for the team since moving from Sauber (now Alfa Romeo).

"Drivers like Charles come up every 10 years or so," he explained.

"He's incredibly talented, focused and mature for his age. He's very grounded, he's improving.

"He has learnt from Seb and he would admit that. He has everything it takes, incredible talent."
