Mick Schumacher has gotten his hands on more of his father's iconic Formula 1 machinery, driving the all-conquering Ferrari F2002 before it goes under the hammer in an auction in Abu Dhabi.

The F2002 was driven in 19 races across the 2002 and 2003 F1 campaigns, winning 15 of them and helping Michael Schumacher and Rubens Barrichello to 28 podiums.

Schumacher and Ferrari were crowned champions in both seasons the car was used.

Chassis number 219 will go under the hammer, and is expected to fetch $5.5million - $7.5million.

The chassis was driven by Schumacher to race victories in Imola, Austria and France – where he secured the 2002 championship in record-breaking fashion.

Now his son has had the chance to drive one of F1's greatest ever machines before it goes on offer.

"To witness Michael's son, in this incredible car, at the home of Scuderia Ferrari was a once-in-a-lifetime experience and truly underlined the significance of the F2002 to Michael and Ferrari's racing legacy," said Oliver Camelin, RM Sotheby's Car Specialist.
