United States GP Driver Ratings Part 2
Sergio Perez (Qual: 19th - Race: 10th) 8/10
Perez was marooned with a pit-lane start after missing a call to the weighbridge in Friday practice, but still secured a point to move Racing Point up to sixth in the constructors' championship, getting bumped back into the top 10 as a result of Kvyat's penalty.
Nico Hulkenberg (Qual: 11th - Race: 9th) 6/10
Eventually got the better of Raikkonen after pitting late on for soft tyres and the switch paid off as Hulkenberg made further progress through the one-stoppers to bank a couple of points, although the week ahead could well see confirmation of his departure from F1 in 2020.
Carlos Sainz (Qual: 7th - Race: 8th) 6/10
A lap-one collision with Alexander Albon impacted Sainz and resulted in McLaren opting for a one-stop strategy, putting the Spaniard into preservation mode rather than attack.
Lando Norris (Qual: 8th - Race: 7th) 7/10
Norris just ran out of time to take sixth from Daniel Ricciardo, passing the chequered flag four tenths of a second behind the Renault. Having qualified behind team-mate Sainz for the fifth grand prix in a row, Norris turned the tables in the race thanks to a spectacular start which saw his team-mate, a Red Bull and a Ferrari gobbled up.
Daniel Ricciardo (Qual: 9th - Race: 6th) 7/10
Although overtakes are Ricciardo's signature move, extracting tyre life is fast becoming his calling card in the Renault and another nicely judged one-stopper saw the Australian clamber into a 'best of the rest' berth.
