Suzuka Saturday action cancelled amid Typhoon Hagibis fears

Suzuka organisers have cancelled all track activities scheduled for Saturday at the Japanese Grand Prix due to the threat of Typhoon Hagibis.

The storm is expected to wreak dangerous weather conditions on Japan, with landfall expected on Saturday.

Qualifying has been moved to Sunday morning as a result.

In a statement, F1 said it supports the decision "in the interests of safety for the spectators, competitors and everyone at the Suzuka Circuit".

When will Japanese GP qualifying take place?

Qualifying: Sunday October 13, 10:00 local time (02:00 BST) Japanese GP: Sunday October 13, 14:10 local time (06:10 BST)

Although clearer weather is scheduled for Sunday in Suzuka, any damage to the track or further incidents which raise safety concerns could see the schedule altered again.
