Japanese GP Weather Update: Typhoon Hagibis, will Suzuka see racing?

Running at the Japanese Grand Prix has been impacted by the threat of Typhoon Hagibis hitting the nation.

Hagibis was upgraded to a Category 5 storm on Wednesday, equivalent to a hurricane, as it continued to move through the Pacific Ocean.

It is made landfall on Saturday, battering the east coast of Japan, although the area surrounding Suzuka did not bear the brunt of the worst.

Regardless, race organisers cancelled Saturday's planned action, with FP3 cancelled altogether and qualifying shifted to Sunday morning.

Clearer skies, and strong winds, greeted the returning drivers and fans on Sunday, as an epic rebuild got under way, but on-track action should go ahead as planned.
