Correa expected to leave intensive care after Hubert crash

Juan Manuel Correa could leave intensive care in the next 24 hours as he recovers from the injuries he sustained in the Formula 2 crash that killed Anthoine Hubert.

Correa suffered fractures to both legs and a minor spinal injury after crashing into the prone Hubert at Raidillon in Saturday's F2 feature race. His condition has been described as stable throughout his time in hospital.

His parents remain at his bedside in Liege and he has been informed of Hubert's passing.

A statement read: "Juan Manuel sends his well wishes and prayers to Anthoine Hubert and family. Juan Manuel and his family are very thankful to all of the fans for messages voicing their concern.

"Once his injuries have stabilized doctors will determine when he can be transferred back to the United States via an Air Ambulance to continue with a very lengthy rehabilitation program."
