Ferrari rapid again before Hamilton crash: Belgian GP FP3 Results

Ferrari once again set searing pace in third practice for the Belgian Grand Prix, with Lewis Hamilton perhaps feeling the pressure as he dumped his Mercedes into the tyre barrier to red-flag the session.

The Silver Arrows face a rapid repair job ahead of qualifying at Spa-Francorchamps after Hamilton spun into the wall at the rapid right-hand Les Fagnes.

It appears that Hamilton avoided damaging his gearbox or power unit, although chassis damage could still have a knock-on effect on his race weekend.

At the top of the timesheets, Charles Leclerc and Sebastian Vettel traded top spot, with the Monegasque coming out on top by four tenths, after Vettel locked up on a late flying effort.

Red Bull were hampered by engine braking issues in Max Verstappen's car on Friday and the Dutchman was again off the pace, down 1.1 seconds on Leclerc's leading time, while Alexander Albon was at the bottom of the pile, but he will not compete in qualifying owing to grid penalties forcing him to start at the back of the pack on Sunday regardless.
