Mercedes have revealed their Formula E car set to enter the next season of the series at the end of the year. Sporting what is described as a "special teaser livery", the car will be on display at the Geneva International Motor Show later this month.
Mercedes' FE project will be based at the same headquarters as the all-conquering Formula 1 team, which has secured double title glory in each of the past five seasons.
The German marque has dipped its toe into FE this season, with the entry of the Mercedes-affiliated HWA team, who previously entered as a proxy Mercedes team into DTM.
Although former F1 driver Stoffel Vandoorne and two-time DTM champion Gary Paffett are employed as a stellar driver line-up, HWA are the only team yet to score a point four races into season five.
Both will hope to improve their fortunes as the prospect of a full Mercedes drive next season remains on the table, with excitement now growing with the release of the car they may hope to drive.
"The countdown to our entry into Formula E has now officially begun," Mercedes Motorsport chief Toto Wolff said.
"Our team has obviously been working behind the scenes on this project for quite a while now, but when you see the car in our teaser livery for the first time, you know that the project has entered a serious phase."
