Pierre Gasly has praised the increased performance of Red Bull's new Honda engines and claims that there was "only good news" emerging from this week's testing in Barcelona as he managed to log plenty of laps for the first time in the new RB15.
The Frenchman is a new recruit at Red Bull, having been promoted from Toro Rosso after the 2018 season after Daniel Ricciardo left for Renault.
In testing at the Circuit de Catalunya this week, Gasly recorded 238 laps as he attempted to get to grips with the new car and engine, and he doesn't have a single complaint about the performance so far.
"So far it's been really good, we haven't pushed it flat out but already you can feel the performance has increased," responded Gasly when asked about increased power from Honda.
"That's the main thing. And the reliability, we had no issue at all. Also, looking at Toro Rosso [which ended the test second and third in the times] it looks really promising.
"Only good news from these four days. We need to keep working. The others are really fast, but at the moment we are testing a lot of things on our car.
"Now we need to understand what works best."
Although Gasly did not have a complaint about engine power, there was one very slight issue that posed a problem - his seat.
"That's the only issue we had," the Red Bull man said of his car seat.
"I'm moving quite a bit, so I think we're going to improve it for next week. Overall it's been really positive. No main issue with the car, neither with the engine. A really good first four days."
