FP2 for the Austrian Grand Prix was twice red-flagged, as Max Verstappen and Valtteri Bottas damaged their cars, while Sebastian Vettel came close to doing the same in a wild session.
Charles Leclerc ended the session top of the timesheets, but teams' qualifying simulations were almost entirely wiped out by the trio of incidents, which came in a crazy 20-minute spell.
Verstappen spun off at Turn 10, ploughing his rear-end into the barriers, before Bottas was launched front-wing-first into the tyres at Turn 6 and Vettel went off at a similar spot to the Dutchman.
Lewis Hamilton ran slower than his team-mate, who missed most of the session, although the Brit's time was set on hard tyres, hinting at serious strength in his Mercedes.
