Haas to remove Rich Energy logo in Canada

It seems that Haas will not run with Rich Energy's stag logo on its cars during the Canadian Grand Prix as the team's title sponsor continues to fight a copyright infringement case. Rich Energy were last month found to have copied the logo of bicycle brand Whyte Bikes, which has been appealed by the soft-drinks company.

Rich Energy have not come quietly into Formula 1, with owner William Storey having previously tried to purchase Force India.

The stag logo remained on Haas' cars, clothing and other team branding at the Monaco Grand Prix despite Rich Energy's defeat in court, which saw an injunction granted to Whyte Bikes which would prevent Rich Energy from using the logo.

Rich Energy's appeal will be heard later this month, likely prompting the move to see the logo taken away in Montreal.

It remains unclear if the branding will be used at the French Grand Prix, which will be held four days before the new hearing.
