Leclerc wants a crack at MotoGP

Charles Leclerc has a taste for action on two wheels, setting sights on a potential MotoGP test after taking a trip to Mugello this weekend. Leclerc was in attendance as Danilo Petrucci delighted the home fans by taking his maiden MotoGP win for Ducati.

Leclerc is not the only Formula 1 star to take a liking to motorcycle racing.

Lewis Hamilton tested World Superbike machinery last year and has reportedly arranged a ride swap with MotoGP legend Valentino Rossi for some time in 2019.

Although with plenty of ambitions to realise in F1, Leclerc says the thrill of MotoGP has definitely piqued his interest.

"It's very impressive, this is my first time at MotoGP," Leclerc said. "Just to see the speed that they are going through in the corners on two wheels is just incredible.

"I had one day free so I decided to come here, it's always good fun.

"I [drove at Mugello] back in Formula 3, but now being here of the first time [for MotoGP], I absolutely want to try one of those bikes. Maybe I cannot ride with one of these bikes straight away but maybe to train with some bikes on-track would be the target now.

"I feel [like I am] in my environment. In the end There are two wheels instead of four but the passion is the same and it's great to see."
