VIDEO: Is this the Philippines GP circuit?

Could this be a Formula 1 circuit of the future? After it was this week revealed that Liberty Media had trademarked the terms 'Philippines Grand Prix' and 'Manila Grand Prix' among others, Filipino-based architects SpaceFabrik have shared images and videos of a new circuit to be built in Manila in conjunction with long-term F1 collaborator Hermann Tilke. Would you want to see an F1 race on this track?

According to SpaceFabrik: "The project has 100 hectares allocated for a racing circuit.

"The client's goal is to have a premiere racing destination in Southeast Asia. The Philippines currently has only two racing circuits that are operating and have only held Formula 4 as their highest rated FIA event.

"One of the aims is to have at least FIA Grade 2 circuit with a length of 5 kilometres and a host of support and commercial facilities to make it attractive to motor sports enthusiasts."

Currently, F1 races can only be held at circuits in the Grade 1 category, per FIA rules, although a recent push to bring a Dutch Grand Prix back to the calendar has muddied the waters somewhat.

The Netherlands currently has no circuits with Grade 1 status, but Liberty is reportedly interested in investing in a facility to make improvements.
