Red Bull agree with Ferrari and Mercedes over 2021 rules

Red Bull motorsport advisor Dr Helmut Marko says recent reports suggesting that an agreement has been reached between Formula 1's teams and owners Liberty Media over proposed rule changes in 2021 are wide of the mark, although F1's three biggest teams are in agreement.

It was recently claimed that a recent F1 strategy group meeting had ended with teams agreeing to a sliding scale of proposed budget caps, which would eventually bring the grid into line with Liberty's plans over the coming years.

A keystone of Liberty's 2021 revamp is a budget cap, although Ferrari and Mercedes have both spoken out vociferously against it.

However, Marko's latest claims suggests that the Silver Arrows and Scuderia have been won over, as well as Red Bull, with issues now elsewhere on the grid holding things up.

Marko told Auto Bild: "We are still a long way from an agreement.
