Monaco Grand Prix: Starting grid with penalties applied

Lewis Hamilton will lead Mercedes team-mate Valtteri Bottas away from the front of the Monaco Grand Prix grid, with the order behind them mixed up slightly thanks to penalties given to Pierre Gasly and Antonio Giovinazzi for infractions during qualifying.

Both Gasly and Giovinazzi were guilty of impeding drivers during qualifying.

Giovinazzi held up Nico Hulkenberg during Q1, while Gasly was trundling on the racing line as a fast-moving Romain Grosjean approached, wrecking the Haas driver's lap and consigning him to a Q2 exit.

Gasly's demotion moves Grosjean's teammate Kevin Magnussen up to fifth, while former Red Bull drivers Daniel Ricciardo and Daniil Kvyat also benefit.

Racing Point's Lance Stroll and Sergio Perez are bumped up a place by Giovinazzi's penalty, as is Charles Leclerc, who could only qualify 16th after Ferrari left him in the pits as times tumbled at the end of Q1 to ruinous effect.

Leclerc, Hulkenberg and Sergio Perez all reported to the stewards after qualifying after missing calls to the weighbridge during quali, but none were given penalties.
