Fernando Alonso would not be drawn on whether his post-season car swap with NASCAR legend Jimmie Johnson will give him an idea if he wants to drive in the series next year. Alonso and the seven-time Cup Series champion will sample each other's cars in Bahrain, the day after the F1 season ends.
With Alonso leaving McLaren and F1 at the end of 2018, it remains unknown exactly where his racing future lies.
The Spaniard has strongly hinted that he will take part in the Indianapolis 500 in his pursuit of the 'Triple Crown' but he will not take part in a full IndyCar campaign, with McLaren running out of time to enter a team next year.
Alonso remains guarded on his exact plans for 2019, but says he will not be swayed one way or the other by his stock-car run later this year.
