Mexican Grand Prix Starting Grid

Daniel Ricciardo will lead Red Bull teammate Max Verstappen away on the front row of the grid for the Mexican Grand Prix. Ricciardo took Saturday honours at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez, denying the Dutchman a place in Formula 1's record books in the process.

Verstappen looked on form to become F1's youngest pole-sitter in Mexico, but Ricciardo pulled out a mega lap at the very end of Q3.

Title rivals Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel occupy the second row of the grid – Vettel must win to keep his championship hopes alive, but Hamilton will be crowned champion for a fifth time regardless with a top-seven finish.

Two drivers are moving backwards after qualifying – Romain Grosjean will serve a three-place penalty for causing a collision last time out in Austin, while Pierre Gasly will start from the back of the grid with fresh engine parts and a new gearbox fitted to his Toro Rosso.
