With Lewis Hamilton chasing a fifth world drivers' title at a circuit he has dominated like no other, the United States Grand Prix arrives at the perfect time as he looks to strike the final blow in 2018's scrap with Ferrari and Sebastian Vettel – do the odds say he is likely to do just that?
Hamilton has won five of the previous six United States GPs held at the Circuit of the Americas, so seeing him priced at 8/13 (1.615) for victory this weekend is little surprise.
Vettel is the only other man to have won in Austin and is priced at 10/3 (4.333), with Valtteri Bottas(8/1 – 9.0) and Kimi Raikkonen(16/1 -17.0) taking familiar spots in the distance of their respective team-mates.
With a victory for Hamilton seeming as much of a certainty as anything can be in F1, attention will turn to where Vettel finishes – he must follow a triumphant Hamilton home in second to deny is rival the title in Texas.
The German priced at 11/4 (3.75) to finish outside of the top three, a result which would make Hamilton fans' eyes the world over light up.
Pole positions in Austin are split evenly two apiece between Hamilton, Vettel and Nico Rosberg – the Brit's both coming in each of the past two years.
Hamilton is 1/2 (1.5) to secure his ninth Saturday success of 2018 – once again only Vettel (9/4 – 3.25) comes in anywhere close.
An intrigue of races past at Austin sees Vettel having secured fastest lap in all but one of the races held at COTA – he's 9/2 (5.5) to repeat the trick this year, with both Hamilton (2/1 – 3.0) and Bottas (4/1 – 5.0) priced shorter.
