Arrivabene responds to Juventus links

Maurizio Arrivabene has responded to reports that linked him with a departure from Ferrari for Serie A champions Juventus, insisting his "future will be at Ferrari". The Scuderia's team principal has served on Juventus' board since 2012 and was reportedly a leading candidate to replace departing CEO Giuseppe Marotta.

Arrivabene has close links to the Agnelli family, which owns both Juventus and the FIAT company which incorporates Ferrari.

Since his appointment as Scuderia chief in November 2014, Arrivabene has helped lead the team's re-emergence into title contention.

Despite their progress, Ferrari have been unable to capitalise on having the strongest car on the grid for parts of 2018 and Sebastian Vettel trails Lewis Hamilton by 50 points with five races remaining on the back of the Mercedes man's Russian Grand Prix victory.

Arrivabene was reportedly in favour of retaining Kimi Raikkonen in next year's driver line-up, but he was overruled as Ferrari's new board stuck with former president Sergio Marchionne's decision to replace the Finn with Charles Leclerc.

However, the 61-year-old does not envisage leaving Maranello any time soon, despite the lure of Italy's biggest football club.

"I'm at Ferrari and my future will be at Ferrari," said Arrivabene.

"I have been an member of the company's Board of Directors for years and before taking up this position in Maranello.

"I had the delegation of control / risks and I am pleased to remain on the board, provided that the appointment is accepted at the next shareholders' meeting, and I am honoured, but my work remains here."
