Lewis Hamilton endured a miserable Friday during FP1 and FP2 at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, with a red flag causing chaos in the second session.
FP3 RESULTS TODAY: Verstappen misery compounded as F1 star summoned by FIA stewards
The 40-year-old was placed under investigation by the stewards during FP2 after Alex Albon had to take evasive action to avoid the champion's Ferrari. The stewards confirmed that the incident would be investigated after the session with the Williams driver labelling Hamilton as "dangerous."
Late drama then hit FP2 after Yuki Tsunoda crashed his Red Bull at the final corner, which caused a red flag and stopped the session briefly as the marshals collected the debris.
It was touch-and-go as to whether the session would resume, but the remaining eighteen drivers all had the chance to get back out on track in the final few seconds - which resulted in chaos.
As the cars all gaggled for position on track, Norris had to make a quick overtake to avoid smashing his McLaren into a pack of cars, as the field gathered to undergo their practice starts at the end of FP2.
Before even starting the session, Gabriel Bortoleto was ruled out of FP2 after his Sauber suffered a fuel leak, a nightmare for the rookie as the evening session was his only chance of representative running in Jeddah.
In FP1, Pierre Gasly shocked the field by setting the fastest time on the soft tyres, ahead of both McLarens with championship leader Lando Norris in second.
Charles Leclerc separated Norris from his team-mate Oscar Piastri, whilst Hamilton languished in P8 and Verstappen finished the day's first session a place behind in P9.
Former Red Bull driver Liam Lawson, was also investigated after FP1 for 'failing to follow the race directors instructions', and was handed a reprimand by the stewards instead of a sporting penalty.
