F1 2024 US Grand Prix Sprint Race starting grid with penalties applied

The FIA have confirmed the official starting grid two hours ahead of today's US Grand Prix Sprint Race at the Circuit of the Americas.

Max Verstappen led the sprint in Austin from lights out to finish after he claimed pole position for the 19-lap race on Friday, and sealed his first win since June.

The Dutchman's title rival, Lando Norris, had no answer to Red Bull's pace and only managed P3.

In a late change to the order, Williams star Alex Albon started from the pit lane following changes made to his car under parc ferme conditions.

The decision came after the final FIA grid confirmation as a result of the late call by the team to alter the rear wing specification and the setup of the suspension, handing him a tricky challenge to progress up the order on what marks his 100th grand prix weekend.

Both Haas drivers made it into the top 10 with Nico Hulkenberg and Kevin Magnussen finishing in the points ahead of Yuki Tsunoda, giving them a major advantage in their constructors' battle with VCARB.
