US Grand Prix Sprint Qualifying LIVE: Red Bull SNATCH pole from Mercedes at COTA

Lando Norris seems fairly miffed in the post-qualification session press conference.

The McLaren star said: "i’ve been struggling the whole day with the balance and the setup.

"In a way, happy with P4 because it could’ve been a lot worse but my lap was shocking.

"Not a terrible day, could’ve been worse, could’ve been better."

After all that, here are your top ten grid positions for tomorrow's Sprint Race:

• Max Verstappen (Red Bull)
• George Russell (Mercedes)
• Charles Leclerc (Ferrari)
• Lando Norris (McLaren)
• Carlos Sainz (Ferrari)
• Nico Hulkenberg (Haas)
• Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes)
• Kevin Magnussen (Haas)
• Yuki Tsunoda (VCARB)
• Franco Colapinto (Williams)

Red Bull will be delighted with that one!

Their star man starts out in front for the Sprint on Saturday.

The following drivers are eliminated in SQ2:

• Sergio Perez
• Fernando Alonso
• Liam Lawson
• Pierre Gasly
• Lance Stroll

Rookie driver Liam Lawson finishes 15th and is eliminated for VCARB.

He had a lap time deleted which would have seen him in 12th.

A Ferrari car in front, not for the first time this weekend.

Carlos Sainz is ahead, with a lap time of 1:33.274.

They don't mess around in Sprint Qualifying do they?

The drivers are back out and SQ2 is underway.

The following drivers are eliminated in SQ1:

• Oscar Piastri
• Esteban Ocon
• Alex Albon
• Valtteri Bottas
• Zhou Guanyu

Oscar Piastri ends up in the elimination places after having his lap time deleted for track limits.

The McLaren man will not get another shot at Sprint Qualifying and will start the Sprint 16th on the grid.

Alex Albon spins 720 and is in the elimination zone for SQ1.

The seven-time champ Hamilton is still in front.

He's +0.056 ahead of Charles Leclerc.
