Aston Martin confirm launch date for debut car

Aston Martin has confirmed it is to reveal its debut Formula 1 car in early March.

The team that has rebranded itself from its former Racing Point guise will shine a spotlight on its car at 3pm on Wednesday, March 3.

The car will be unveiled in a virtual event by Lance Stroll and his new team-mate in four-time F1 champion Sebastian Vettel, with the duo joined by chairman Lawrence Stroll and CEO and team principal Otmar Szafnauer.

Via a statement, the team declare the quartet "will all play their part in launching the first Aston Martin to take to a Formula One World Championship grid in over 60 years. "We look forward to welcoming you to the next major event in the history of Aston Martin in Formula One."

With Alpine confirming earlier on Tuesday its launch date of Tuesday, March 2, it leaves just Red Bull and Haas to announce their plans.
